Basics of PPC
PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click, a paid advertisement model where the advertiser is required to pay every time someone clicks on their link.
Pay-Per-Click basically is buying traffic and visits on your website rather than earning it organically. PPC has several models and forms, the most common one is Search Engine PPC.
In Search Engine PPC advertiser bids on PPC software to gain a position at the top place on the Search Engine Results Page. Whenever the visitors click on the page, an advertiser has to pay some amount to the search Engine. Search Engine PPC can be really beneficial for an advertiser because the amount of traffic it can generate can give you much more profit as compared to the cost you pay for it. But the only condition is that the campaign should be well planned and managed.
A successful PPC campaign should have the following things in it:
- Keyword Relevance: Keywords are something that you bid for. Using relevant keywords is really important to provide you with a respectable position on the Search Engine Results Page. The keywords should be related to your business.
- Quality landing page: The quality of the landing page should be good. The landing page should have a proper call to action. It should not be a very busy page. It should be simple and relevant.
- Content Quality: The quality of your content should be good. It should again be relevant to your business.
- Creative: Your campaign should be creative.
Ultimately what matters for a Search Engine is its users. It wants to satisfy its users completely by providing them what the user has asked for. It does help the advertisers who are relevant and appropriate for a given search. Also, it rewards them by charging them less if their content is relevant to the audience.
A lot of patience and hard work goes into designing and planning a successful PPC campaign. It begins with planning and doing keyword research and ends with bidding on PPC software. It involves designing a wonderful landing page and relatable content.
A successful PPC campaign can be as beneficial as if you are paying $2 for it you can easily earn up to $5-$6.Simply if you have done a successful PPC campaign you are going to earn more than what you have spent, because a single visitor and lead are worth everything. This is the reason why PPC is paid so much attention to.
5 Mistakes That Google Doesn’t Like and How to Stop Making Them
We live in an age where competition is everywhere. Everyone wants to rank at the top. In such scenarios, SEO is gaining a lot of buzz. Marketers and bloggers try their level best to rank on the first page of Google. Everyone wants to gain organic traffic for their websites. But it is not so easy. We all tend to make a few common mistakes that Google is not ready to accept. These mistakes seem to be small but can greatly hinder your ranking and appearance.
We are going to discuss five mistakes that Google doesn’t like and How can we stop making those mistakes.
- Keyword optimization: Keywords are the thing on which SEO is based. People search for the keyword and Google ranks your website before them on the Search Engine Results Page.
Many times people do not understand the importance of keywords and keyword optimization. By keyword optimization, it is meant that you should:
- Use various variables of your main keyword.
- Place some version of your keyword after every 100 words.
- Use proper keywords in your headings which Google will look at.
- Do not use the same form of a keyword, again and again, this would not help you. Instead, try using different phrases and words.
- Go for keywords according to “what your target audience can search for”.
There are several free tools available that can help you with keyword optimization. Some free keyword research tools are:
- High-Quality Content: Initially google used to look only for the keywords in the content and would rank your website. But now it takes a deep look at the quality of content. Google wants your content to of high quality. Content that lags quality doesn’t matter for Google even if the right keywords have been used.
In order to build high-quality content, you should:
- Create in-depth content: By in-depth content, it is meant that you should dig into the topic deeper and deeper. Your content must at least be 2000 words long for getting ranked on top. The more detailed your content is the more chances are there for ranking on the first page of Google. Shorter content do not get a chance to be ranked.
- Create semantically rich content: By semantic richness, it is meant that your content should not be limited to one single keyword, it should have various synonyms, phrases, and other things related to your main keyword. Google doesn’t take a look at single keywords.
- Provide for interactive page experience: People do not want to read the simple article going on, it should have some structure to it and so does Google. The more interactive your page is more chances are there to be ranked. Create a proper table of contents, and add proper images, and also video content. These things provide a proper structure to your content and ultimately benefit you.
- Avoid grammatical mistakes: This is an obvious one, google will not let content with several grammatical errors rank on the top. You must proofread your content before publishing it in order to avoid grammatical mistakes. There are several free tools available for grammar checks like Grammarly.
- Poor Tags: In order to be ranked on top you must use proper tags. Tags like title tags, must contain your main keyword and it should be at least 50-60 characters long but not more than that. The title tag is something that would be appearing on the Search Engine Results Page.
Along with title tags, appears the Meta-Tag, also referred to as meta description, which is again really important. Many of the pages do not optimize the meta description. It explains the relevance of your content in reference to the topic. You should mention some important points of the content in your meta description so that Google can look at it and provide a chance of ranking to your content.
Using proper meta description and title tags can make it easier for Google to evaluate your content and it indeed would be beneficial for you to help you rank on the first page of Google.
- Irregular Content: Irregularity is something that Google doesn’t like and we tend to make this mistake quite often. If you want your content to be recognized by Google, you will have to be regular with your content.
You are required to produce more content than your competitors. Also, you should be versatile with your content, as in your content should not be limited to one particular domain, it should explore. Your content should be trendy, that is it should be compatible with the current market trends.
For Example, You produce content related to Fashion and lifestyle, it should not talk about the trends that existed in past but the trends that exist now or are beginning to exist.
If you don’t keep your content trendy, you start losing value amongst the readers. Also, this is something that Google doesn’t prefer. It also wants to provide trending stuff to its users.
- Linking: This is something many of us ignore. We should provide proper internal and external links to your content.
External links should be related to big names, and high-ranking websites which will help you and not just any website. Also, you can link with those websites that have linked to you, this can help you get traffic in the future.
3 Vital Click-Based Signals for SEO: First, Long, & Last
A question that has been gaining quite a lot of buzz among SEOs is that google uses engagement signals like clicks and interaction for ranking web pages on SERPs. Google has mentioned in its “How Search Works” document clearly that it uses engagement metrics for ranking web pages. But Google has not defined those metrics and things can just be assumed.
Herein we would be talking about 3 vital click-based signals and how to optimize them.
- First-Click: The sites or pages on which users click have a higher chance of getting ranked on top. If users are clicking on your page, they are finding it relevant, making it very important to earn that first click.
But How? It is not that difficult, you just need to present your page on the SERP in an attractive manner so that it seems to be relevant. You need to design the title tags very nicely by using the proper keywords, brilliant URLs, and the meta- description. These are the things that are seen first by the visitor. If they find these pieces of information relevant and interesting, they will surely click on your web page.
- Long-click: First-Click signals can not always assure your ranking in a way that long-click signals do. The users can click your web page but the time they spend on your website is the key. Not all the queries require the users to stay longer on your page, for example, if the person wants to know the meaning of a word, there is a direct answer to it. It doesn’t require them to stay there for long. So this is based on queries.
How to optimize Long-Click signals? Make your content relevant by giving the visitors in-depth solutions for each of their queries. Make your content bigger and deep. Use interactive features to engage your audience, use proper links, use videos and images, make it as interesting as possible. The design of your page should be amazing, with proper navigation. The website should be proper and should not cause distractions and also should be easy to load.
- Last-Click: In simple terms, the last-click can be quoted as your web page should be the last one that should be visited by the user for that particular query. Your page should provide them with all the relevant information they are looking for so that they do not need to go to some other pages for that same information. If your content is relevant they are going to dig deep into it, and possibly share it. Also, they might search for you again when required.
How to develop the last click signal? Simple just provide them with whatever they need. Build up content that is so in-depth that the user gets their query resolved. Try to use examples and easy language so that it becomes interesting and easily understandable for them.
3 Tips for Getting More Value from Your Landing Pages
Conversion is the most important part of any offer, any article, or any post on any website. A Landing page provides you with just that. A landing page is something that can convert your visitors into your leads just by filling in a single form. But not all marketers are able to obtain the most benefit from a landing page even after knowing what all it can provide you with. Conversion rates for some industries are as low as 1-2%.
Why does this happen:
- Many marketers get confused between a landing page and a home page. The home page is something that contains information about the company’s services, the offers, and many other things. It contains many links which take the visitor to other pages. But a landing page is limited to just one purpose and that is Conversion. It just has one link and that takes the visitor to fill up a form.
- Many marketers do not provide proper information on the offer which will be the key to converting a visitor into a lead.
- Many of them ignore the main focus of creating a landing page that is providing visitors that can motivate them to fill out the form and become a lead. They mainly focus on designing it.
How can we generate the most value from the Landing Page?
The main focus of a landing page is conversion., Motivating the visitor to convert. To get the most value out of your landing pages, follow the following three simple steps, which are simple but critical.
- Focus: The focus of the landing page is clear. It should be able to convert a visitor into a lead. The focus should be on designing a clean landing page, with no or minimal distractions. The distractions can be extraordinary design, several links, and various form fields. Keep the form fields limited, remember your visitor is here for getting the offer, not to fill out a questionnaire. So keep the focus on the offer.
Also emphasize more and more the offer, on what the visitor will be receiving if fills that particular form. Present the offer in such a way that the person knows exactly what he will be receiving after just a few steps. The offer must be highlighted and presented in such a way that visitor wants to receive that.
- Mobile friendly: Nearly 30% of web users operate from mobile phones. Chances are they must be accessing your website through phones. Do make your landing page in such a way that it can be easily accessed through phones. Nobody is going to wait for them to get on desktops to access your site.
The page must be designed in such a way that can easily be accessed on a mobile. The page should load easily, navigate nicely and look proper even on the mobile screen. The visitor should not face serious problems in trying to do it on the phone. This can increase the chances of conversion as many other websites skip this little thing.
- Minimalistic: The landing page should not be something very out of the box. I agree in marketing we need to be out of the box, but not in the case of Landing pages. Here less is more. We are aware of the basic purpose of a landing page, it is just to convert the visitor into a lead. The landing page should not distract the visitor. It should be designed in such a way that the visitor’s focus is intact on the offer provided and the form he needs to fill to reach that “free” reward.
The design of the page should not be very heavy, it should be short, worthy, and simple. It should not have many links to it, just links to the form that person has to fill out and the social media links.
5 Giants who failed, Golden Century of Innovation
It’s crazy to think that 88% of the Fortune 500 firms that existed in 1955 are gone. It’s not a small number, what went wrong at this scale? To be safe! The Innovation Happened.
Today I would like to share with you a few of the mega brands of the 20th century which don’t exist now.
Company 1; BLOCKBUSTER (1985 – 2010)
Blockbuster was a provider of home movie and video game rental services.
At its peak in 2004, Blockbuster had 9,000 stores globally, according to Business Insider, and it earned $5.9 billion in revenue.
Well, it was said that the main reason for the bankruptcy is the wrong strategic decisions like denying Netflix a $50 million offer to purchase.
And due to huge debt in 2007-08, they had no money to invest and switch to the video streaming business, As Netflix did and dominate the market.
Well, the reason might be any but in the end, the delay in timely shifting to the video streaming business made Blockbuster end up with 1 store left in Bend, Oregon.
Now Netflix, Amazon, and Disney Hotstar are some of the new competitors competing in the video streaming segment.
Company 2; TOYS R US (1948 – 2017)
Toys R Us was a toy, clothing, and baby product retailer.
At its peak in the 1990s, Toys R Us had 1,400 stores, controlling 25 percent of the global toy market. In the year 2000 company signed 10 years agreement with Amazon to become an exclusive toy vendor.
But later realized that some items were not part of the deal like video games, collectible toys, children’s books, videos, and music. It ended up losing lots of money in the deal and in the litigation process also.
Later in 2009, Toys R Us purchased toys.com and etoys.com but it was already too late to catch Amazon and Walmart online.
Company 3; TOWER RECORDS (1960 – 2004)
Tower sales hit $1 billion in 1999, but it was right around then that everything seemed to go south. What lead to the downfall of the business is the decision to stop selling music singles to force customers to buy the full albums.
And this is the time when a customer needs led to the birth of online music pirating, and Napster where users can swap the files with each other for free.
And Steve Jobs put the last nail in the Towers’ coffin, The iPods & iTunes. Now customers can download any singles for as low as .99 cents with iTunes and store all MP3 music on iPods.
Company 4; GENERAL MOTORS (1908 – 2009)
Though you can see General Motors is still operation, it was sold in 2009 after a major bailout from the US government. It is now operated with new venture GM( new GM) which purchased the majority of GM stakes in 2009.
In May 2009, the valuation dipped down to $ 457.2 million only from a whopping $ 11 billion in 2008.
According to one article from HBR, there are a few reasons for this huge failure, and the one which is prominent among all is they stopped making a profit as they don’t have what customers wanted to buy.
GM was too slow in innovation and coming up with new technology due to its huge organizational size.
The fall of the “Old GM” company never adopted the new technologies not even in the latter stages. Such technologies ensured the organization was able to produce customers with more satisfying products, such as the luxurious and comfortable seats that other competitors fitted in personalized cars. It could be due to their slow innovation and due to their huge organizational size.
Company 5; KODAK (1889-2012)
At its peak in 1997 had a stock-market value of nearly $30 billion and shrunk to $145M or less in the year 2012.
Well, it’s surprising that the inventor of the digital camera, Steven Sasson was the electrical engineer at Kodak when he developed the technology. But he was totally ignored by the Kodak officials.
The Paper and film business was so profitable at that time that the company even ignored the competitor, Fujifilm. Even when digital cameras become popular Kodak argued that digital images cannot replace the feel of actual printed images. It’s sad that they have wasted 10 years in this process, and then it became too late.
Kodak filed the bankruptcy in January 2012.
Don’t ignore the upcoming technologies.
There are many more examples of other big brands also which sold their services like crazy at some time and are now totally gone. Truly, business innovation is a really important aspect of any business.
Also, it also shows how much you should care about your customer’s needs. Keep a regular eye on competitors, not only existing businesses but also the new competitors and technologies which may disrupt the whole industry.
And History shows it to us, it’s not just fact but the reality of nature. Evolutionary products are the true winner.
Thank you…What’s your take on these companies?

Brainstorming Obsessions, 4 techniques to spark creativity
Life is full of wonder and innovative ideas, and the idea is nothing without innovation and evolution. Brainstorming is the process of coming up with the best solutions for any problem statement.
In this blog, we will go through 4 unique techniques of brainstorming which can change the narrative of how you think about brainstorming.
There are a few techniques already established like 5Y, 7 so what, SWOT, etc. Here we will cover some more interesting things, Yesss!
#1 Technique – Rolestorming/Figure storming
Have you noticed how we change our personality while mimicking others especially when it’s about our favorite film star?
This technique is the same where you can play the role of others and think about how they could have solved or thought about the present situation. You will be more likely to come up with some creative out-of-box ideas.
This method is introduced in 1980’ by Business Guru Rick Griggs and is usually done in group brainstorming. But it is also helpful for brainstorming at the personal level.
So in the next brainstorming session, which personality do you want to pick?
#3 Technique – Brainwriting
While discussing ideas out loud may hinder the participation of some members.
To solve this brainwriting is popular where everyone gets the equal participation opportunity. The popular form of brainwriting is known as 6-3-5, where 6 people write 3 ideas each in 5 mins.
And then it becomes more interesting when everyone swaps the piece of paper, read others’ idea and then write 3 more ideas. And carry on the process round by round.
Once the whole process is done on a set number of rounds, all ideas are collected and discussed.
Sounds interesting? Note it for your next brainstorming.
#5 Technique – SCAMPER
The importance of the right questions is certainly greater than the solutions themselves. This technique emphasizes the importance of asking the right question.
SCAMPER stands for:
Substitute. Check on the current processes and products and whether can we substitute any part to make it more affordable and effective alternatives.
Combine. Can we mix our two existing processes or services to create something new?
Adapt. How can we transform the product or services to adapt to the market needs?
Modify. Try changing the look, feel, and shape of the product.
Put to another use. Can our product be more useful somewhere else or with another audience?
Eliminate. Is there any chance to make product services more simplified by eliminating some parts?
Reverse. What if we do completely opposite? Or changing the sequences?
Got any new ideas while applying them to your business?
#7 Technique – Six Thinking Hat
Be the detective to find the clues of the success.
Six hat techniques are helpful in amplifying creative thinking by making sure all the business aspects & viewpoints are present. Six Hats are representing 6 different thinking styles objective, intuitive, cautious, optimistic, creative, and control.
White Hat – wear to objectively focus on facts and figures.
Red Hat – wear to look at the problem with intuition, gut feeling, and emotions.
Black Hat – wear to become cautious and consider the negative side of the event.
Yellow Hat – wear to think positive and consider all benefits of the circumstances.
Green Hat – wear to think creatively and come up with new approaches to solve problems.
Blue Hat – wear to organize discussion and review all viewpoints
No doubt all the hats have their own importance and are useful for effective brainstorming sessions.
Which of the technique/s will you apply in your next brainstorming session?

4 Undeniable Elements for Massive Success.
This blog is for people who want to make a maximum impact in a limited time.
Have you wondered how people man like Elon makes such a huge impact, running multiple ventures at the same time? Did he get special permission for extra hours? Definitely No!
We always complain about limited time but we have many examples like Mark Zuckerberg(Meta Platforms), Ritesh Agarwal(OYO Rooms), and Nikhil Kamath(Zerodha) who have changed the whole narrative in a matter of 1 or 2 decades.
Hi, I have done brief research and presented it here on the basis of my own understanding and a few belief. Thoughts are based on books, Deep Work, Hyperfocus, Atomic Habit, and other books on productivity and habit building.
Reason 1; Limited & Undefined life span
After 0.33% growth from last year in 2022, the life expectancy in India is 70.19.
Let’s reduce the 20 years of fun and formal education, 10-15 years of retirement, and 10-15 years of marriage and being a parent. There are 30-40 years we actually have to do something visible.
Some of you may argue that they can do more, Well, that’s great.
The point here is we are human and live in a society so it’s impossible to utilize all years 100% even if we intend to do so. And the years we already spend in our childhood, already gone. ( great time, wasn’t it? Old Childhood days)
If we have something positive and impactful to implement in the world then it’s truly our responsibility to put our best efforts to utilize all our working years.
Reason 2; 24 hours a day!
8 hours sleep, 2 hours traveling, 1-2 hours food and snacks, 1 hour for miscellaneous activities. We only left have 8-10 hours of actual work to the max. So there is no way possible we can generate additional hours.
Additionally to this, there are many other activities that demand our time including relationships, family, friends, etc.
As technologies are advancing to automate some of our activities but it also swaps away time when we glue to our devices unintentionally. Yes, their Advance AI showed you random signals that they are improving you.
Beware! They just want your attention for a longer period of time.
So challenges are many and time is limited, how to do something useful?
Reason 3; One Big Fish
Scope matters. There are an enormous number of tasks that people perform every day. Can we do everything? No, unless we are Superman’s kids :D.
It’s always important to find out what we want to achieve in life, and what impact we want to make with our limited life. That’s where the vision, mission, and passion matter, be it for any business or for personal.
It’s okay to few switchings in the initial years till you find your perfect spot, where your heart, mind, and spirit synchronize. Once we identify, Let’s go, get that!
Reason 4; Deep work & Attentional Hours
Suppose you are working 10-12 hours per day for 20 years, What would be your chances to make any difference? Well, I believe it depends.
The hours of work don’t guarantee success, it’s hours of attentional work. It’s not about how many hours we do work but what value we are generating in the end.
We have limited years, limited time per day, what we can control is our attentional work towards our goals & ultimate success.
Most successful people don’t have degrees, but some have great degrees. What’s common in all is Deep work( work with full attention).
Thank you for reading.
I would love to hear your views and feedback. Also do suggest any of topic you would like to hear from me.
I will be studying, reading & sharing more content on ways how we can make a difference.
